Maddie is a passionate educator with a wealth of experience in early childhood development and education with her Masters in from Lesley University. With a deep-rooted commitment to fostering curiosity and creativity in young minds, Maddie has dedicated her career to shaping the educational landscape for preschoolers.

Originally hailing from Hingham, Maddie embarked on a teaching journey to Bangkok, Thailand. It was during her twelve-year tenure in Bangkok that Maddie gained her expertise as a preschool teacher at ELC International School. It was here that she was able to learn about the beautiful philosophy of Reggio Emilia.

Drawing inspiration from the renowned Reggio Emilia approach, Maddie believes in the innate curiosity and capabilities of every child. Armed with this philosophy, she has taken on the role of Director at Little Fern, a Reggio-inspired preschool nestled in the vibrant community of Cohasset, MA. Here, Maddie's leadership has transformed Little Fern into a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn through hands-on experiences and meaningful interactions.

Maddie's dedication to early childhood education extends beyond the classroom. She is an advocate for parent involvement and community engagement, recognizing the pivotal role they play in a child's holistic development.

With her dynamic leadership, passion, and commitment to excellence, Maddie Hobbs is devoted to providing a beautiful space for young learners at Little Fern, leaving an enduring legacy in the field of early childhood education.

Mackenzie Stewart

Lead Teacher  

Mackenzie is a dedicated educator with a heart for nurturing young minds. With over 15 years of experience as a nanny, she has honed her skills in childcare, fostering growth, and instilling values in the children under her care. Mackenzie's journey into teaching began with her love for guiding and educating children, leading her to pursue a career in early childhood education.

As a preschool teacher, Mackenzie creates a warm and supportive learning environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. Her creative teaching methods, coupled with her genuine care for each child's well-being, make her a beloved figure in the classroom. Whether she's leading educational activities, fostering social development, or sparking curiosity through exploring creativity Mackenzie's dedication shines through in everything she does.

Outside of the classroom, Mackenzie leads an active lifestyle, indulging in her passions for skiing and ice hockey. She finds solace in the pages of a good book and treasures moments spent by the beach, where she can unwind and recharge. Mackenzie's diverse interests and experiences enrich her interactions with children, offering them a broad perspective on the world around them.

    Jen is thrilled to be a part of the Little Fern community! 

    Her passion lies in fostering a love of learning and independence in her students. She creates a nurturing and engaging classroom environment where children feel empowered to explore, collaborate, and reach their full potential.

    Jen has over 5 years of experience teaching in elementary classrooms, ranging from Pre-K to grade 5. She is licensed and certified in both Montessori and Massachusetts. Prior to entering the education field, Jen worked in branding and marketing at several New York City based advertising firms.

    When she is not in the classroom, Jen enjoys staying active by jogging, hiking, and practicing yoga. She also loves to unwind with some creative sewing projects and reading.
